In the framework of the SMARTiMONY project, financially supported by the European Union through the program Interreg – IPA – CBC Grece – Albania, the Prefecture of Gjirokastra Region in cooperation with the NGO ROOF, on 13-14 September 2021, organized a two-day activity that started with a study visit to ten tourist sites of Gjirokastra (Old Bazaar, Bazaar Mosque, Topullaj House, Gjirokastra Castle, Zekate House, Skendulaj House, Kadare House, Babameto House, Ethnographic Museum and St. Sotir Church) and was concluded with an evaluation workshop.
According to Professor Klodian Muço, the development of tourism directly affects the economy of a country therefore the focus should be high. These activities were led by experts in the field of tourism and cultural heritage and were attended by students, representatives of travel agencies, and businesses operating in the field of tourism in Gjirokastra region.
